The Riox Carboxy therapy mask is a non-invasive, needle-free skincare treatment that uses carboxy therapy to deliver carbon dioxide (CO2) to the skin, which in turn boosts oxygen levels and improves circulation.  This process, known as the Bohr effect, helps rejuvenate and balance the complexion. 
How It Works:
The treatment involves a two-step process:
A specialized gel (containing sodium bicarbonate) is applied thickly to the clean, dry skin of the face and neck.
  1. A fabric activator mask (containing citric acid) is placed over the gel.
  2. A chemical reaction occurs between the two components, generating CO₂ gas within the gel layer. Users may experience a tingling or burning sensation and a crackling sound during this process.
  3. The CO₂ is absorbed by the skin and diffuses into underlying tissues and blood vessels.
  4. In response to the increased CO₂ concentration and lower pH, red blood cells release oxygen more readily to the surrounding tissues (the Bohr effect), enhancing cell metabolism and blood circulation.
  5. After 20-30 minutes, the mask and remaining gel are washed off.

Instructions for at-home use :
Prepare the skin: Thoroughly cleanse your face and neck, and pat the skin dry. Optional light exfoliation can improve mask penetration.
  1. Apply the gel: Take the carboxy gel from its container and apply an even, thick layer over the treatment area (face and/or neck), avoiding the eye and mouth areas.
  2. Place the activator mask: Place the fabric activator mask over the gel, pressing it down firmly to ensure it adheres to the gel. You should hear a crackling sound and feel a tingling sensation as the CO₂ is generated.
  3. Wait and activate: Leave the mask on for 20 to 30 minutes. Press the mask onto your face every 10 minutes to reactivate the CO₂ generation.
  4. Remove and rinse: After the waiting period, remove the mask. Wipe off any excess gel with a tissue, then wash your face with lukewarm water.
  5. Follow up: Apply a hydrating moisturizer to lock in the treatment effects. 

Usage schedule :
For maintenance, use the mask once a week.
  • For more dramatic results, such as lifting and smoothing, use the mask in a series of treatments (e.g., 2–3 times a week for 3 weeks).
